Champions League: Tottenham Hotspur beat Ajax to set up all English final

Two English Premier League clubs-Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur -have sailed through to the Champions League final after both teams came from losing positions to overcome their rivals to set up and epic final in three weeks’ time.

Tottenham beat Ajax with a last minute goal to bring the scores to 3-2. Ajax had last week beaten Tottenham at home by 1-0. Both teams  tied at 3-3 aggregate, so Tottenham ran away with victory on superior away goals.

Just 24 hours before the Tottenham Hotspurs heroics, Liverpool beat Barcelona by 4-0 having been defeated on the first leg by Barcelona by 3-0.

It means two English teams have staged significant semi-final comebacks on consecutive nights to book a place in the biggest match in European football.

Tottenham Hotspur won 3-2 on the night in Amsterdam after trailing 2-0 at half time.  On resumption they equalized and the scores stayed at 2-2 until the 95th minute into the injury time when Lucas Moura scored the decisive goal and earn a hat-trick.

The final between Liverpool and Spurs will be played at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid Spain on June 1.
