Imo state indigenes in UK host Ihedioha in London


Imo state governor-elect, the Rt. Hon. Emeka  Ihedioha will be hosted to a reception Sunday in London, United Kingdom, in an elaborate ceremony under the aegis of Imo State  Union UK, the umbrella body of all Imo associations in Britain.

A statement issued Thursday in London by the organizers enjoined all Imo state indigenes in the country to turn out en masse to receive the governor-elect.

A statement issued by the organization’s president Sir Chuks Ogbonna; secretary general Frank Abanihu and publicity secretary Amb. Tagbo Nzekwe explained that the meeting was at the instance of the incoming governor.

“Our governor-elect has specifically requested for this meeting with all Imo indigenes resident in the United Kingdom,” the statement noted.

It added that the meeting would provide opportunity for a cross-fertilization of ideas between Imo people in the Diaspora and the governor-elect as well as ‘an opportunity to interact with our governor-elect and congratulate him on his well-deserved victory.
